I plan to work with students grades Preschool to Third grade with no specific content area. In my classroom it is my goal to include as much technology as possible with the students still being able to learn and grow. Three of my favorite types of technology and software to use with children would be the SMARTboard, the program kidspiration, and Microsoft Word.
I really like the SMARTboard and the fact that it is a great way to teach a lesson and include games and interactive learning for the students. I would like to have games and activities built into my lessons so that students can come up to the smartboard and have hands on learning as much as possible.
The program kidspiration is a wonderful program to allow children to put their own ideas into concept maps. I would recommend this program for students more around second or third grade and higher but younger children cannot do any harm by playing around on it. It is a great way for them to explain something and create their own fun activity to share with the class.
I have always liked Microsoft Word. There are so many projects that can be created using Word and I plan to show my students all the newsletters, papers, and posters that they can create and print out for the world to see.
One really neat program, InspireData is a great program to create concept maps and interactive ideas, however, it would be much too complex for a student of my grade level to use.
Hi Danielle,
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to hear you thought InspireData was a neat program! Yet, if you're worried about it being too complex for younger students, you may be interested in Kidspiration.

Awesome post! I too doo also agree with using SMART Board in my classroom. I had mention in my post that I have seen firsthand experience with kids using SMART Board and its a rewarding experience for me and them. And I also too mention that I will being using a multimedia project. Almost the same as you said using Microsoft word. But both of these technologies are pefect for your content area and mine! I hope you have a great future as a teacher!!
ReplyDeleteThe SMARTBoard in conjunction with Kidspiration can provide a very powerful integration of technology, provided it is the students who are the ones using the technology and the board.
